The next electricity bill likely to jump some French to the ceiling. These days, EDF and the Government were widely communicated on an increase in the regulated tariffs of electricity of 1.9 for individuals. This figure is however that a average and encompasses very different realities according to the case. 2.5 Million of EDF customers who subscribe to the blue base and a small installation with tariff - a power of 3 kVA (kVA) - will indeed see their bill increase of 4.65 on average. Among them, some will see a decrease of 11 while other very small consumers, will face an increase of more of 100, according to estimates by the Commission on regulation of energy (CRE).
Same observation for the 12 million individuals who subscribed to the just power superior (6 kVA): their invoice will grow by an average of 3. The increase will be zero for large consumers but will move up to 13 for the customers who consume the least. The Tempo option, which allows to pay a different price following the days of the year, is also a development significantly higher than the figure of 1.9 announced by the Government. Its residential subscribers 500,000 will see their bills rise by 4.7 on average, according to calculations by the CRE.

Of course, increases will be not so important things in absolute value. Approximately 18 million subscribers EDF will see their bills rise to a maximum of 20 euros per year. They will be 2 million to record an increase of 40 to 60 euros per year. But the pill could be difficult to pass.
The end of "tariff traps".
Why such disparities The fee schedule has become first more widely complex. So far, individual customers and professionals of tariffs blue paid the same prices. This is no longer the case today. The new test has been completely delivered flat. Differences in rates were also introduced between several categories such as local communities, businesses or farmers. "A professional does not consume electricity at night, said an expert from the CRE." New pricing better correspond to the pattern of consumption of the subscribers, which allows to optimize the operation of the ensemble of the electrical system. "Second factor of change: taking into account in the tariffs of the cost of delivery of electricity, which will now clearly appear in the invoice. The Government has tried to eliminate what the CRE called "rate trap", i.e. of the tariffs that did not cover the cost of production of EDF. It was particularly the case of the petites facilities 3 kVA and a part of the facilities of 6 kVA. "It restores a situation where large residential consumers paid for small," says an expert of the CRE. Contacted, EDF stressed that this redesign was "a decision by the public authorities" and that it allows to eliminate "of tariff anomalies".
Only concern: all these changes are made without explanation. "Electricity is a well deserving of transparency," said yesterday the intermunicipal Union of the outskirts of Paris for the electricity and communication networks (SIPERREC), souligne that all these developments "do were preceded by no information or consultation." EDF seems unwilling to show many education to customers. In the centres of appeals the téléconseillers confess unable to justify price developments. "Being client Tempo, I called my agency for further explanation of the increase in rates, which bears no relationship with the Government's announcements." "No justification not me was given except that it is an average", tells a reader of the "echoes". "For the moment it is still calm, but is expected to receive many calls when people have received their bills", recognizes an advisor.
